So I once got an interview question that I think is an easy one to answer, but I just want to make sure (I'm still new to interviewing).

What would you do if you saw a co-worker handling a resident/patient roughly?

I said that I would first talk to my co-worker and see what if everything is okay, help them with the patient if need be. If there were bruises, I would report it to my nurse, and if there were any signs of abuse (being a Mandated Reporter) I would have to call the state.

Is that the correct answer??

I agree with intervening immediately to protect the patient, but the rest seems far too soft. The incident should be reported to a nurse whether there are bruises, or not ...and the rough handling, in itself, is abuse.
