Interview help!!

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

Hey! So I have an interview this Thursday at Bassett Medical Center up in Cooperstown, NY...and I REALLY pray I get this job!

My questions are...what is the best thing to wear for my interview? I have a beautiful pencil skirt and jacket suit which I think will be fine...I hope so, anyway!

How long will it take to find out whether or not I am hired? Could it be right after the interview or a couple of days after?

And since I have to relocate what should I say if they ask me when I will be available to start?

Thank you!!

That's great!

Are you planning to take the job if it's offered, despite the rural setting?

Hey michigansapphire,

I've been following these posts about Bassett since last week because I have a phone interview with them tomorrow! I'm psyched and really want to get this job!

Cooperstown looks like a really nice place to live. If I am offered a position, do you have any suggestions for housing?

Also, if you don't mind, what is the whole process of getting hired like at Bassett? How soon did you find out? What is this 1 hour orientation like that people keep mentioning?

Sorry for all these questions:unsure:... just want to be as prepared as I can be. I've done a lot of research so far, but if you have any tips I would greatly appreciate them!!! :)

I hope you'll see this in time! Thank you in advance!

Hey! Sorry I didn't see your post before your interview. Hope it went well!

That's okay! It went pretty well though because I have an in-person interview coming up January 8th with Bassett! I really hope I get the job, seemed like the perfect opportunity for me! I'm interviewing first with HR for a 1/2 hour, then for the Medical unit and a Surgical unit; both 1 hour long.

Great! Dress warm, we have a foot of snow on the ground.

Thanks for the heads up! I'm soo nervous now by the way...!!

How did the interview go? I have an in-person with them on the 19th

How did the interview go for you all? Did you get the position? Hope so ;)

how would one answer this question? you have an altercation with a doctor, what do you do? i said that communicatiopn is the main importance if this happened, hearing that doctor out and why they are feeling the way they are feeluing about a situation. collaboratively try to figure out a resolution; however if that didnt work, locate your charge nurse. ideas??????

please, tell me how the personal interview went with you as I have a personal interview with the surgical floor manager this month and they told me that it will be one hour interview. What kind of questions they ask and what i should and should not say?
