Thank you! Now I am very nervous about the in person interview. Each interview is one hour long. Needless to say, I'm terrified! Haha!
I'm sure you'll do well! An hour long interview sounds nerve-wracking but they will probably take you on a tour and have you meet the staff of each floor so I'm sure it won't be so bad! Anyways, good luck! Let me know how it goes!

Hey everyone!
I had posted on the boards a week or so ago about my upcoming interview at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, NY. Well, I must have really made a good impression because I got an in-person interview on the spot and it is scheduled for October 11th!
I am so excited, but SO nervous! I don't even know what to expect!
Apparently I am having two interviews on the same day. One for the medical floor and one for the surgical floor. Each of them lasting one hour. Now...ONE HOUR interviews? What could they possibly ask, do, etc.?
I was just wondering if anyone who has been hired there could tell me what to expect, what to bring, how to dress? Any good advice?
I would GREATLY appreciate it!
Thank you so much!
I got called for an interview! I'll be interviewing with the nurse managers of the ICU and SICU. I'm so excited! Yayy!! :)
Congratulations!! When is your interview??

Do you mean SCU? Bassett doesn't have a SICU
Oh I thought the HR woman said SICU but i guess it was SCU. I would be happy to work in either though!
Thanks!! Its Oct.15, I hope it goes well!

Hope the leaves at at a peak when yu go. It is a beautiful area. Enjoy the visit as well as the interview.
Bump! Anyone?
Dress: professional and conservative.
Bring: extra copies of your resume and list of references.
For an hour-long interview, you'll probably get a tour of the unit (ask lots of questions), a sit-down with the manager, and maybe a peer review with some of the unit's nurses. Then you'll go through the whole thing again on the other unit!

Most managers use at least some behavioral questions.
A peer review means that part of the interview would be with the nurses who already work on the unit. The goal of these is for them to judge how well you would fit in as one of their peers.
