CCU/ICU Interview

Be prepared to deal with behavioral interviewing because most well-known and top tier organizations use this method now. This involves you responding to questions by 'telling a story' about things you have done and why you did them. Many organizations also have formal assessment tools that measure your technical knowledge, so the interview focuses on all the other stuff... Interview questions usually start out with a phrase like "tell me about a time when you . . . " You can anticipate questions about coordinating multiple specialist orders, dealing with difficult families, utilizing chain of command, etc.

The interviewer will expect a first-person account, so don't try to lapse into third person or give generalities like "when I deal with conflict, I usually. . . "... they want to know about a specific episode and what you did at that time. So it may help just to take some time to recall and remember some of your highlights before the interview.
