Wireless Cell Phones in Nursing

Hello,
I am currently in an online RN to BSN program and my course this semester is Nursing Informatics. I have a project to do reguarding the use of wireless telephones (cell phones) in nursing for such things as direct patient to nurse communication, nurse to physician and vice versa communication, etc. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I have searched several databases and cannot seem to find all the things I am looking for? I would appreciate any help!!!
Thanks!!

Greetings JenRN1028,

Allnurses.com has a forum on Mobile Computing and Nursing at:
http://allnurses.com/mobile-computing-nursing/
Have you looked and posted there?

There is also the nursing pda listserve:

Send Nursing-PDAs mailing list submissions tonursing-pdas@lists.twistedpair.ca

Have you tried?:
http://www.himss.org/content/files/I...IREMENTSV3.pdf
Nursing communication and collaboration goals: - Among physicians and their surrogates -
Within and across disciplines - With patients and families - With care

Perhaps you could contact either the original speakers or the institution that gave these presentation? -

Wireless Nursing Communication Improves Efficiency and Patient Satisfaction
7/29/2004, Audio Conference, the Scottsdale Institute, offers three timely audio conference presentations.
Speaker:Bil Greskovich, VP for Operations and CIO, Agnes HealthCare, Baltimore, MD

You may want to expand your subject to not just "wireless phones" but wireless communication vehicles?:

CIN: Computers, Informatics, Nursing - Abstract: Volume 26(3)May/June 2008pp 159-166
Wireless Communication Role in Patient Response Time: A Study of Vocera Integration With a Nurse Call System

You may want to make a connection or use some of the survey date from:

The research study conducted (2005, 2007) by The Nursing Informatics Taskforce of HIMSS's, to better understand how health information technology affects communication between nurses and the other members of the interdisciplinary team in the acute care setting.
