That is an amazing title; and what an important position. Whoever gets this will certainly have national effects on the way our country handles health information with technology. Especially since the VA's systems are all linked - very cool position indeed!

I was just thinking it was good money. DC is THAT expensive? Uh Oh.

Sometimes its not just about the "money"

The potential that this role will have to impact both our specialty and healthcare informatics on a national (if not international) level is awsome!

Plus a six figure salary of --$124,351.00 - $139,600.00/yr is nothing to sneeze at!

Just my two cents.

Only in health care are people expected to take less than market rates for the ability to "make a difference." This is middle management money for any systems person in a metro area - not in health care.

Yup, so they're offering the low end of market. But for a HUGE undertaking. Digitizing the VA - wowzuh!
