Stimulus Plan and Informatics

The stimulus plan has given hospitals money towards digitizing records, sizable amounts based on hospital beds. Looking at the Federal Register there are plans for EHR to be mandated in several areas. Is this an opportunity for nursing informatics?

I think that the Stimulus is geared toward any informatics program even though I know that AHIMA leadership is all over the ARRA and have put themselves and HIM professionals forth as the experts in the EHR.
