LVN informatics positions & experience?

by S-Rank

Hello everyone,
I'm almost done with my LVN program and before this I obtained a BSN in Telecommunications, which I know probably does not matter, from what I heard. Anyways I just wanted to ask this question:

Also are there positions for an LVN to take in order to gain experience

There aren't any particular ones.

I depends on your area. I lucked into mine because I am in a rural area.

Your best bet is to get involved, somehow, in your facility's electronic medical record system.

No the LPNs I have seen in informatics were at the right place at the right time, similar to the way many RNs get into the field.

The biggest need right now is for providers in ambulatory care. Get some experience in ambulatory nursing, working in a clinic, outpatient services..etc. There are a lot of companies looking for LPN, RN, MA, etc with ambulatory experience, and will train on the application. Most prefer at least two years of expeirence, but I have seen those looking for one year, with excellent knowledge of Microsoft applications, and experience as a EMR user.
