EMR Documentation for Rehab. Nursing

I am looking to find what other organizations are currently doing to meet the specific CARF and the ARN standards for rehabilitation nursing documentation in an EMR. We are a free standing rehabilitation hospital with multiple levels of care (LTACH, Acute Rehab, Sub-Acute Rehab, and Long Term Vent/Special Needs units).

Thanks for your help!

Default Re: EMR Documentation for Rehab. Nursing
Greetings IN,

To my understanding the CARF and ARN standards do not limit individual rehab facilities choice of electronic or paper documentation formats.
The standards provide guidelines which an organization can utilize to structure and configure their paper or electronic documentation.
Since you are in the Midwest have you contacted the Rehab Institute of Chicago? ( I think their system is Meditech) or one of the Vencor's (cant remember what the name was changed to) who use a home grown EMR.
Good Luck!
