hi im a filipina nurse movin to USA early next year, i have taken all the exams in order to get an immigrant visa, im excited and anxious since this is my first foreign exposure.

godbless

hello! from what city and hospital are you? i will be moving to florida early next year too. my agency told me the probable date would be january till march. i'm excited and anxious like you! i know how you feel. i'm married with two kids. i feel so depressed to leave my dependents behind. my dependents will just follow 3 to 6 months after. well, we have to make a lot of sacrifices. the adjustment will be terrible. but i hope it will be worth it. i have to wait and see.

we have to deal with the loneliness being in a foreign country, plus the pressure of working in a new hospital. we have so much to learn. imagining my first day of duty there scares me. huh!

Hello again People!

I'm glad to hear that some of you still remember me....big HELLO to Miss Suzanne!!! To Rep!!! and to WOL of course! email me Miss WOL if you have questions, I will try my best to give you some good tips if it's the area that I am familiar with in DFW, Anyways...for all those new in-coming nurses, I must warn you one of my friends here who came via agency, the manager of the agency because her "suitor" and just harassed her completely coz she wont go for a date with him, lemme tell you guys something...just use common sense, you will be in a new place, dont be so trustful, keep your important items in secure places....(those mini-safety boxes at local banks wont cost much annually) Anyway, also keep a copy of the Nurse Practice Act....some other nurses will be asking you to do them favors....and again...what does the company/ hospital policy book say???? There's protocols....guys, and it wont hurt to get a professional nursing license insurance....and join professional organizations such as the American Nursing Association.....I have said so much, maybe somebody out there who could possibly help me as well, I need a good RN training program in the Peninsula side of the San Francisco Bay area, if anybody is in the upper management, it wont hurt to pull some strings!!!! hehehehe....

thank you!!!! happy reading gals and guys!!!

" To pursue something difficult, you will need COMMITMENT, FOCUS and

CONFIDENCE. When the mind and heart are focused on the same thing...ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. watch me."

These are the words I lived by when I went to nursing school in Texas. We need to believe in ourselves that we could do it. Living in America as a second class citizen wont be easy you guys, but prove to the world that you are worth it !!!

I prayed alot too oyu guys, and He never let me down. Ever.

.can someone helpme again?please

i recieved a letter fr the california board stating that i lacked

the "clinical portion" in the papers that i

submitted.. i am now confused at what they are asking

me now (although to make sure..im now "re-doing" my

"sealed envelope" contents.. both the trancript plus

breakdwon of intl nursg proh plus the req for

transcript") i am now wondering wer did i go wrong ..i

tried asking the board but they could not pinpoint the

exact problem and so i have decided to just submit

everything..

if you still remember your application, it would

really help me..if i remember correctly..my papers in

the sealed envelope are:

1. transcript from the school

2.breakdown of educ program (filled by school

official)

3. request for transcript (also filled up by school

official)

did i miss anything? do the school give another form?

or did i miss another form? is there another form

where in the hours/days/months of clinical practice

were put?

i then mailed the sealed envelope from the school's

post office directly to the board..

sorry for the long letter, any help would be

appreciated..i have been waiting for months and i have

already applied at pearson..this has really confused

me..thanks a lot..may god bless you and keep you safe

always

hey guys,

good news: I found a RN training program at a local Sutter Health member hospital here in San Francisco, it's going to be at a Neuro/Oncology/med-surg floor, I will be starting next month...San Francisco based hospitals offers are pretty good for RN's, the only thing is it's high cost of living here in San Francisco, but there's good public transportation so that's a plus. There's nurse/ patient ratio laws here in California, the only thing is they dont use many nurses aides on the floor. The market rates for new RN's in the San Francisco area are around 33.50-37.00 (base pay) plus diffentials if u work evenings/nights/weekends. There's hospitals that have contract with California Nurses Association (CNA). So the RN's are in the union of the CNA.

This is just FYI.....California RN board, I believe does not require CGFNS. But make sure to double check!!!!!

TO pinayhomegirl, I am sorry that I could not help you...I went to school here in the US but maybe Miss Suzanne can...the one thing I've noticed though, is that on my transcripts, the clinicals are part of the semester hours? I'm not sure....did u try to email the board for some clarifications??? Did u ask your agency manager for suggestions?? Did U ask your classmates/friends who were in the same situation before????? The other thing also, you cannot make appointment at Pearson unless you have your authorization to test...coz there's codes there that you would need to set up the appointment.

Dont give up.....it's just part of the trials. Be strong, Keep your heads up!!!!

You Go Girl!!!!!! God bless.

Hi!:) it might be the summary of your related learning experience which indicates the # of hours, weeks, rating and affiliating agencies or hospitals.Employers always request for this together with your transcript of records..
