I suggest you look at another state for registration. You can not get a US SSN until in the US with a valid work or immigrant visa

sorry im just really new at posting things. yeah i realized i totally should have clarified. but yeah i do have a SSN here in canada. but im gonna give them a call to get more info.

thank you =)

Dude a SSN means Social Security Number it's American.

Canadians have SINs---Social Insurance Number.

You should know the difference if you really are Canadian.

Nothing to look at, You can not get a US SSN until in the US with a valid work visa or immigrant visa. As I said before I suggest you look at another state, get sorted, pass NCLEX then find employer, meet TN requirements and get TN issued apply for SSN once in the US with TN visa and then if license required like for CA then apply to state including SSN on application. There are several states that will now NOT issue a license without a SSN or immigrant/work visa but CA have stated they will not process applications from April without a SSN which means many International nurses looking at other states for initial application

im from texas, and i dont have a philippine license. after i graduated, i went back to texas but i didnt take that route for getting texas license 'coz i knew i had to get cgns and texas board of nursing requires 2 years experience when you're a foreign graduate. instead, i applied for california license (the dont require local license), and i was approved and took nclex and got my california RN license. and then, i endorsed my license to texas and already have my texas license..

-I currently hold a license as a Nurse here in the Philippines and on my way to Texas, I read the same requirements from Texas BON site CES from CGFNS and the 2 years experience. How is it possible that you were able to transfer your license from California to Texas? I can't find a law that states a reciprocity between registered nurses of california and texas. and Texas has this Nurse Licensure Compact and California is not a member? and isn't TEXAS BON going to ask for an explanation why you took the CA NCLEX just to have your license transferred to TEXAS.? would they require an explanation? Because am also thinking of applying for CA NCLEX then have it transferred to TEXAS...

Hope to be advised on what I should do...

God bless! and thank you..

hi! i just passed the july 2010 board. Im now here in LA and I want to take my oath at the Philippine consul. The requirements include the certificate of passing which has the scores as well but I dont know how to get that. My friends back home arent instructed about that either i think. do you guys know how i can get that and what i need to submit?

also, if i send an SPA to my representative so she can register for me, what other documents do i have to send as well?

hey there! congrats for passing the board.

i think BON sent the certificates of passing/board ratings of the students in my school (i'm not sure) then the teachers distributed them to respective students. since i was already here in texas that time, my brother had to go get it for me. it would be better if you call directly to your school and ask about that.

in addition to the SPA, you have to send your representative a copy of your passport page showing your personal info and the page showing the date of entry abroad. and of course the required documents for initial registration in PRC. you can check their website for more info (PRC Official Website)

for more information here's the texas bon endorsement guidelines link.. http://www.bon.state.tx.us/olv/endorsement.html .. when you have any state rn license now, you're now considered a rn with that state, and you're not applying for nclex to be eligible on that state as a foreign graduate. you're applying now for endorsement.. texas rn endoresemet requirements are

  • required fee is $200.00. the fee is non-refundable.
  • graduation from an approved school of professional nursing (general).
  • a satisfactory score in one of the following examination:
    • state board test pool examination (sbtpe)- with a minimum score of 350.
    • national council licensure examination for registered nurses (nclex-rn®)

[*]licensure in another jurisdiction which has requirements equivalent to texas.

[*]must have been employed as a registered nurse during the past four (4) years (unless you have taken and passed the appropriate rn examination within that time period).

[*]for applicants residing in texas, schedule livescan fingerprinting to complete mandatory criminal background check requirements (online scheduling is optional). in order to be eligible for an electronic fingerprint submission, allow three business days to elapse before scheduling an appointment with l-1 identity solutions. (note: l-1 identity solutions charges a separate fee for this service.) you may schedule an appointment online, www.l1id.com, or by phone at 1-888-467-2080.

for applicants residing outside texas, attach one (1) completed fbi fingerprint card. a fingerprint card can be requested from our website at www.bon.state.tx.us/olv/web-requests.asp. fingerprinting should be conducted by a person who is appropriately trained to collect them. your local law enforcement agency should be willing to assist you.

remember though if you don't have a ssn then some states, especially ca, will not issue a license therefore you are not licensed in another state

hello, I just passed the PNLE, the results just came out last Tuesday & my flight back home to California is on Sunday already. I just wanted to say thank you for all this information because I was freaking out about the oath taking and registration & all that.

I have one more question though, were you able to just get the oath form from PRC even though registration isn't even open yet? Thanks in advanced!
