Hi everyone! I'm planning to apply in SLMC-e.rod, though I heard that they will start the hiring process this coming September.. Do you have any idea on how many exams and interviews you will undergo before they will accept you for the training? Let me share with you the requirements needed: resume, photocopy of PRC license, board rating, board rating certificate, class ranking, GWA, TOR, diploma, and 2 pcs. 2x2 pics (white background)..

Your replies would be greatly appreciated..

Godbless! :wink2:

:sniff:i called dca an hour ago, they said they are not accepting applicants anymore. i passed my resume 2 weeks ago and am afraid that they won't process it anymore because they already stopped entertaining applicants..

What!? This news is disheartening. If this is true, then, :sniff:...

I passed my application 9 days ago... Really sad.

kyuketsuki15: group 3..how about you? i really don't know how many from our batch passed the medical exam and made it to the final listing. one of our batchmate called the NSO to ask when will the training possibly start because she will be going out of the country for a week or two. sadly,as of that moment there was no schedule yet as to when our training will possibly start. :o

To miaka84: Hi! I'm from Group1. Sad to say, our leader didn't pass the medical exam... I called DCA earlier, as of the moment they are transferring 150 GC Nurses to QC to fill in the areas with inadequate staff. This isn't good for us. Our training is postponed until 1st quarter of 2010.

As of the moment, SLMC has temporarily closed the application for the position of Nurse Staff due to the bulk of application that they are receiving. The pigeon boxes (there are two, i guess) have plasters on it with a note saying that they are temporarily closing the application process. I went there earlier this afternoon. Let us just wait for further announcements.

to lensio: just relax and be confident with your answers..the interview is somehow an overview of your knowledge, skills, and attitude. good luck!

kyuketsuki15: wow,1st quarter of 2010?! that's really sad..:crying2:

i thought we would be starting early December considering how fast the processing of our application have been.

hi! will they accept applications this december? i hope they do.. and like what nursing procedures are being assessed in the skills validation test? share please???? thanks!

yup! i wanna ask this question too and also, how and where can I acquire a professional receipt? Do we really need to have a job as a nurse first before we can get one?

urgent news just came in.. our interview schedule was canceled and they told us to wait for further notice.. and news is that the last week interview was also canceled.. whats going on here?

I was interviewed for one of St.Luke's clinics located in the cathedral heights building. My function (if accepted) would be one of a clinic nurse, such as vital signs, health teaching, history taking, etc. and not as a "hospital" ward nurse. Can this be considered work experience abroad? I heard that they do not consider clinic nurse experience as work experience. Is this true? Thanks in advance!

hi, yup most of the agencies prefer nurses who have at least a year of experience as a staff nurse in a hospital with 100 bed capacity. But I suggest that if you're hired as a clinic nurse seize the chance while waiting for your staff nurse applications at other hospitals.. Can I ask how you applied for the job? Where did you submit your resume and did you indicate that you wanted to work in the clinic? thanks

I was asked to report yesterday for a training orientation and briefing for medical exam. So far, Batch 3 has 36 trainees. All our medical requirements must be completed by the 23rd of November, there's no definite date yet when the NSET Batch 3 will start.

@official02: No training fees will be asked from the successful applicants. Actually, a training allowance will be given for the course of 3 months (75-85 days of NSET), around 75% of the salary of a probationary staff. However, this will not be given to us outright, on our 1st year as a staff the 1st half of the total training allowance will be given and the next half upon the completion of the 2 year contract.

@invisible: Thanks invisible! True indeed, I felt relieved after passing the intense screenings. There's no assurance yet even when you reach the training part, but you're one step closer to finally securing a job as a staff at SLMC.

When I had my final interview, 7 of us came and 5 successfully passed this phase. In the skills validation, 4 out of 12 made it. In the initial exam, out of 30+, around 12-15 made it. The mortality rate varies, but one thing's for sure, if you make it to the very end, you definitely deserve that slot!

@*Eosinophil*: I'm not sure that they have a particular grade requirement right now. When I passed mine, that was late July, there was no particular rating/ranking/grade that they are requiring before they accepted my application. The screening selection prior to scheduling of initial examination remains unknown. From what I have observed, they encode their data in a computer before contacting applicants. These includes name of applicant, school, board rating, general weighted average, license number, contact nos., etc. It is plausible that they may base their selection on ratings/grade, however, I don't think they would solely rely on that criteria. I know a couple of successful applicants who had below 80, ratings but it did not affect their application. Try to follow up, I went to the DCA to personally follow-up my application, and right then, I was asked to come the following day for the screening. :) Good luck on your application dear!

I'm happy to share my experiences with all of you! Good luck! :coollook:

Hi burbeestar I would just like to ask if SLMC contacted you for the training already? I already passed the initial exam, nursing, personality and skills exam then suddenly our final interview got cancelled and the text told us to wait for further notice..

I'm still hoping and praying that they would still reconsider our applications sooon :paw:
