Hi, I'm an accounting major graduate. I'm 47 years old, married to an american citizen, living at brgy. bagong silangan.

Right now I'm planning to enter a nursing school that has an affliation with with Veterans Memorial Hospital(you know the hospital where erap was incarcerated:uhoh3:) or I stand corrected on this matter.

Please tell me which school is best suited for me, I have a projected budget of 25k php per sem. preferably one which is in qc.

please help me, I'm at a loss to what-where school I'll be enrolling at.

please help anyone ^_^.

the universities mentioned are admittedly very good nursing schools, but they do not accept 2nd coursers and students beyond 30 years old. the one asking the question is an accounting graduate and more than 40 years old and prefers to go on duty at the veterans memorial hospital. it seems the advice is misplaced here as it applies to younger people. anyway, thanks for the input. let's keep sharing info.

i graduated from uerm (my second course), some of my subjects were credited. i met someone who finished accounting and was admitted also in uerm. better check it out first, i heard also that ust is now accepting second courser. during my time, i inquired in ust first because i finished my first course in ust but they wanted me to finish nursing for 3 1/2 years while in uerm i finished it only in 3 years. but am not sure about 25k for the tuition fees, always expect 30k plus...

hi janel. does uerm still accept second coursers until now? im actually on the hunt for a good nursing school because im planning to get a nursing degree. how did your application go about? is it late for me now to apply, because ive checked their website and it says that the application has already ended. ;( can you please give me some info about the application in uerm? it will really help me. :)

i didnt know that UST IS accepting second coursers. hmm. i really thought they arent open to the idea of accepting college grads.

im going to inquire at chinese general hospital later. i will let you know guys if they are accepting second coursers too.

by the way, does anyone know if trinity college in qc also accept 2nd coursers? i want to go to that school because i like the curriculum. im just not sure if they are going to accept college grads. thanks thanks.

Hi! you better visit the school. i applied a month(May,2001) before the start of classes. we were 10 second coursers who got accepted at that time. if you are angeles based, you can also try Angeles University Foundation, they are also accepting second coursers. it has a good reputation also.

i am confused upto where to take up nursing as my second course...AMA, STI, global city innovative, university of makati, metropolitan college, or manila doctors college. PLEASE HELP ME...thanks! [email protected]

Just a hint, choose the school with lots of local nursing board passers.

i heard that in the last two years, the big universities in metro manila have stopped accepting 2nd coursers. anyway, they get thousands of applicants who are fresh from high school. if ever there are exceptions, the universities insist that the 2nd courser will start from first year level and will have a minimal number of general subjects (from 1st course) credited to the nursing program and thus the student will have to study for not less than 3 and a half years for a bsn degree. it's different 4 to 5 years ago when there were only few nursing students.

you don't have to be confused.

among the choices you gave, i will go for metropolitan college or manila doctors college. they have been in the business for a long time already (probably more than 25 years). they know what they are doing. prc and ched recognize these 2 schools for several years already. these 2 schools also have their respective hospitals for the exclusive use of their students for clinical practice. you won't go wrong with either of these 2 schools. now, between the two, i think manila doctors college has the edge.

study well...

thanks for the advices guys...but i just found out that ust, ceu, manila doctors, makati medical college...are not accepting 2nd coursers? :( i called university of makati, they said their passing rate is 100% for their first batch of nurses (2006) who took the boards. ama is still on its 3yr same with global city innovative and sti.

look for schools which have their own hospitals. this is very important. a growing number of nursing schools now (and their students) are having big problems on how to complete the required hours of clinical duty. this is being closely monitored by ched and prc. applicants for the philippine board exams are interviewed by the bon regarding clinical duty hours and there are several applications that were denied approval due to unexplained and highly irregular clinical duties/cases and also due to lack of qualified clinical instructors.

if you're interested, these schools in metro manila might accept 2nd coursers: metropolitan hospital college of nursing, san juan de dios hospital college, de ocampo hospital college, arellano university, pwu in taft, perpetual help university, fatima university.

please share to us here any info you might get later on about these schools and the school you will choose.
