- Nov 9, '12 by manikka19You have to undergo some trainings in order to work as a respi. Therapist. I had gone that training and the agency deployed me in a pulmonary section of a hospital. they usually tagged their staff as "rt" despite of being a registered nurse and in the certificate, it indicates that u worked as a pulmonary nurse. I worked with the machines and different equipment used by the rt. I hope this helps.
