Is there any Filipino registered nurse here that is a member of Sigma Theta Tau? If yes, is it worth it to become a member of this society? Thanks!

Well, I can speak for US Nurses like myself who are members (though I have a BSN from the Philippines). The way STTI Chapter memberships are organized is through your school of nursing. You are invited into the society by virtue of having excelled in school work or having pursued advanced studies in nursing. Each school of nursing has a STTI Chapter. The annual dues are not that expensive by US standards. Membership allows you access to the Journal of Nursing Scholarship that is published bi-monthly and features original research from STTI members across the globe. STTI has annual conferences and other educational activities through the year. Having STTI membership on one's resume can be a plus to some employers. I am glad STTI finally has chapters in the Philippines. Are the chapters based in schools of nursing as well?

Unfortunately, Philippines still dont have chapters of STTI. I am placed at Phi Gamma, the virtual chapter. I was nominated by an STTI member who I invited during a conference that was held here in the country. Other than research, does it provide any other benefits? Thanks!

I don't know how it would play out in the Philippines but in the US, aside from the ones I mentioned, STTI can also provide scholarships and funds in nursing school for individual members who qualify as well as funding for primary investigators of original research.
