Nursing Schools in the Philippines

So, I am interested in taking up Nursing in the Philippines, however, I do not wish to go through minor subjects again. I am looking for a decent enough school which has an accelerated program, wherein I am able to finish my Nursing Degree in 2 years, maximum. Please give me actual school suggestions, if possible. Also, my friend told me to look for schools which are not ladderized, what exactly does that mean? I already have a degree. My husband is also interested in taking up nursing, but he doens't have a degree yet. He is an American citizen (born to Filipino parents though, so he is eligible for dual citizenship), and I am a Filipino citizen. No LPNs/ADNs please. I want actual Nursing Schools. Please give specific suggestions, ex. DLSU, UST. We would prefer in Metro Manila of course, partucularly near Greenhills area. Thanks!

PS

I know "Emililio Aguinaldo College in Dasmarinas, Cavite". I'm sure there's more universities/colleges that accepts US college credits. There is school in Dumaguete City, Negros called "Siliman University" as far as I know this is really a good school. This is always my first choice but it's too far away from my mother's place in Cavite. Siliman Univesity were founded by Americans. Email me in private when you're ready to consider finishing school in Philippines and I will help you out.

Thank you for the info. Im sorry but how do i email u? My email is [email protected]. Idk how to use this site. Its too complicated for me. :(

Hi,

I would like to ask if somebody out there knows what to do or what the requirements are to pursue nursing in the Philippines. I am a green card holder and I originally from the Philippines with a degree of Education and I want to pursue a nursing career and don't want to wait a year or two to be able to get in the nursing school in the State of Florida, because all institution are full for a year. My question's are I am allowed to stay outside the US since I am a green card holder? Will it affect my status? And is the nursing program will be credited to the US when I come back after graduation because I want to work in the US? Please advice I need help. Thanks.

You can get a re entry visa that will assist in maintaining your GC however I believe it is only for 2 year, you really need to check up on that one. In regards to being credited I haven't seen much in the way of issues with the state bon but a lot will depend on the BON. You will have to meet requirements of International trained and usually takes several months to get eligibility to sit NCLEX

Hello everyone,

I am a 45 year old female currently living here in CA, USA, green card holder, and a practicing LVN in a hospital for two years now. I really want to finish my BSN in the Philippines since it is so expensive to study here. I studied Optometry long time ago in Davao City but was not able to finish it. I was on my 4th year at that time. Now, my husband would like to send me back home to finish my BSN asap. Can anyone help me find a school in Davao City that offers 2nd courser? Also, will my major and minor subjects from my Optometry course be credited since I took them long time ago?

Please help...

With a green card you can't leave for extended periods of time. I would suggest you find a LPN to RN program, and then transition to BSN.

Hi there. I am interested in finishing my nursing degree as soon I can. I am an american citizen and was able to finished all my prerequisites for nursing in the community college. I am settled in finishing my degree in the Philippines. But my problem is what is the right school to go to? I would prefer going to a 2 years BSN program. I've heard that many of Filipinos here in the US tend to go back home and only take 2 years. Please I want to start as soon as possible and what are some of the good schools to consider? Thank you.

Incorrect to a degree. A greencard holder can leave for extended time depending on the circumstances and studying is allowed. You have to make sure you get a re entry visa but I think it just covers 2 years but check US immigration website to be sure

Donotuse, I think it is only a 2 year BSN program if you have a previous bachelor's degree. I did that back in 08, took me about 3 years to complete the program (I have a Bachelors degree in Management)... If you check the second page of this thread somebody had posted a list of different nursing schools in the PI. Good luck! :)
