Hi everybody..I'm mark from Philippines, just recently I pass the licensure exam for MOH-OMAN ..I would like to hear any comments, suggestions or words of encouragement from nurses in Oman specially Filipino Nurses..God bless

check your fb sir, I'm batz.

I checked my facebook but I did not see batz

Are you currently working in Oman? Marchonebus

Yes I am

Any suggestions, tips, advice to us?

Bring Omani Rials or exchange your dollars to Omani Rials at the airport, bring passport size pictures, or 2x2 or 1x1 pictures, bring your white uniform so that you have a uniform that you can use when you get here, also bring your nursing shoes and white underclothes, bring your watch with second hand if you have one, buy an Omantel sim card once you get here because there are other telecommunication providers but Omantel is good, learn a few arabic words before coming here, like "Shukran" for Thank you, if you're a man, don't shake hands with women, don't go out if it's too hot or you'll get sunburned, stores here are open from 7am to 1pm, closed from 1pm to 4:30pm, then reopen at 4:31pm onwards until 9pm I think, so buy food and water at times when it's convenient to you, don't take pictures of women, don't take pictures of government buildings, don't post anything on Facebook that would constitute a breech of privacy for your patients, I know when you start working here, you might be inclined to post pictures in Facebook out of happiness of working here but try to uphold the privacy of the patients because that's just simply proper, at the Ministry of Health, when you write on a big sheet of paper, don't make errors, when getting your resident card(Pataka), make sure your name is correct, when working in your place of work, always look busy, don't look like you're slacking off, if you have a three-prong electrical adapter, bring it, bring your nursing books too, don't bring contraband, follow the law, and have fun in Oman, it's a great country ^_^ I think these are plenty of tips.

Sir thank you very much for these tips. I hope I get there soon. btw How long did you wait for your visa?

Thanks marchonebus for the tips. anyway, I worked also in Saudi, so I know arabic already, and with regards to their customs and traditions I am familiar and adjusted too. during your time, how many months did you wait for your visa? and among 300 nurses they selected, all of those 300 got their visa?

I waited for 5 months. But I have to set your expectations that your wait time might be different from mine.

Hi guys! may I know what's the next step after passing the interview?
