Hi juella, all I know is that you need to pass all the complete requirements first. Yes, even the Certificate of Registration.

hi official02. honestly, they are asking much for the requirements. much than any other hospitals and i don't know why. that is why am asking who have been into the process after submitting all the requirements. atleast we'll know what to do next. have you tried applying there already?

Hello, juella. That was also my impression, they are asking for too much. My last visit was on September 25, 2009, right before typhoon Ondoy. My first visit was just to ask about the process and I was nicely accomodated by the man from the HR. I don't have much of the requirements but I tried to complete it before September ends...

As I fairly can remember, after passing all the requirements, you will be screened and all. They only get 30 per batch, the training is only for 1 month, five percent of which will continue through the hiring process. You'll get certificate after the training.

September 25, 2009 came, I went there with all the requirements I have, I was welcomed nicely. The man from the HR, checked all my requirements... he carefully marked every paper I had. Sadly, he wanted to see the CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION. I explained that it will not be available yet... but he just told me to go back with it.

I'm a June 2009 Board passer. August was my registration date. I'll check PRC again next time...

The hospital have nice facility, a private tertiary hospital.

how funny, we've gone through the same process. yes, the guy from the HR is very accomodating. he also explained to me those. i was there first week of December 2009. However, as clearly as i can remember, the training is 3 mos as volunteer. from there your performance will be evaluated and if you're good, another 6 months as probationary. another eval if am not mistaken for staff nurse position after 6 mos.

i went at PRC 1st week of January 2010 and no june 2009 certificate is out yet. The guy at window 17 told me to call their office to ask again. and as for feedbacks from earlier batches, it will take 6 months to 1 year before releasing.

i agree with you that it's a nice facility. maybe we'll come back by june of this year. hoping that our certificates are out then.

i hope someone who really have gone through the process will read this and help us. there will be like 4 or 5 interviews before you get your position as volunteer nurse. :icon_roll

Oh? Really. Perhaps they changed the process now. I hope someone from there will help our queries.

God bless.

hi, what are their requirements? I'm also planning to submit my application there. thank you.

Why are you all willing to work for free? According to your government you've passed the basic skills and standards set forth by your country in order to sit for the NLE. You've all passed the NLE and you're licensed to work as a RN. Since your country produces more nurses more than the country can employ there are thousands of unemployed nurses. You men and women are the majority of your nation (the government and the employed nurses are the minority) You have the power and you should use it to your advantage.

While the volunteers are working their butt off for free, the employed RNs are sitting on their butts doing nothing and are getting paid for it. There's something wrong with this picture.

Here's my suggestion, since your league of nursing isn't doing a darn thing to help you, maybe a group of you should start a league of nursing for unemployed nurses and get an attorney to back you up on this. Start some sort of union and DON'T APPLY FOR THE VOLUNTEER POSITIONS. If nobody goes the volunteer route then the employed RNs will be forced to get off their butts and actually work, and the hospitals will be forced to hire you because nobody is there to do the job for them. The employed RNs will start their whining and complaining to the hospital administration because they actually have to work and they will be working their little tooshys off and that will drive the hospitals to also bring down the nurse to patient ratios. Stand up for yourselves, you deserve to be compensated for your hard work. Working for free is unacceptable in any nation. The people that you can get to join your league of nursing are the unemployed nurses who work for free, and also future nurses in the making.

I don't know if your current league of nursing charges dues to its members, but you can do the same for a small fee to pay the people that will be fighting for your rights. As long as you have unemployed nurses, and student nurses that feel they shouldn't have to work for free, then you have your group. We all know that the majority of nurses in the Philippines are unemployed, and future nurses. See that's where your government messed up, they allowed nursing to be exploited, and if you form this group, you will be fighting back harder than the government and the hospital administration can handle. They are taking advantage of you, and it's now time for you to take advantage of the situation and fight back. Remember you're the majority. I hope someone reading this will take it to heart and start this group there in the Philippines.

Remember nobody is itching to employ you from abroad. Despite what you're told, there isn't a shortage of nurses in the US. Most places want experienced nurses, and even those are having problems finding employment. Our new grads aren't hired so there's no reason to import. I'm unsure what's the situation like in other countries. But I know that Canada is also experiencing issues with hiring new grads also.

Most of you will be stuck at home twiddling your thumbs waiting for these volunteer positions to open up, or praying that someone will hire you as a staff nurse. Unfortunately there are many of you out there with out jobs. Utilize yourself and use the situation to your advantage, fight back for you and your people. Nobody is going to take care of you. You must do it on your own. Good Luck to you all!!

I do agree so much with you. I am having a hard time looking for a nursing job without ever having to voulunteer just to have an experience working in a hospital. I am all the more regretting the fact that I have taken Nursing as my second profession....having no job all this time is so hard for me and my family but I feel I can't do anything and I don't see anyone doing anything about the situation Filipino nurses are in right now.

so true. why do this hospitals accept volunteers or trainees, well infact they really needed nurses. why can't they just hire nurses.

Please don't regret your decision to persue nursing, if it's in your heart then go for it. Dive in head first and do what you have to do to educate yourself more and to find employment as a staff nurse.

I agree, nobody is doing anything to help the Filipino nurses. The only ones that can do it are the Filipino nurses themselves. Don't let anybody use you as slave labor. Remember that volunteering isn't going to get you anywhere abroad.

You can be the one to start a league of nursing with a group of people in your situation. Fight back, don't give into slavery. By doing this you're going to be more respected by your peers and also around your country because you've taken action against what's wrong in your country.

i agree! can i repost this elsewhere
