Makati medical center- cetn 2012

Hello, my fellow Filipino Nurses!

I'd like to talk about the CETN program in Makati Medical Center.

Last September, I was advised by a friend of mine who is currently a staff nurse in MMC, that they are already open for application for the CETN.

CETN is a training program for nurses who would like to work in MMC. This is NOT a direct hire post. Accepted applicants will go through 2-month training and then eventually, they COULD be absorbed/ hired as a staff.

This has been an on-going program in MMC for years now, but the difference this year, is that the nurses who get accepted will no longer pay the fee of 10,000 PHP.

The process that I went through started with submitting basic credentials like TOR, Board Certificate, and of course, your updated resume. They will screen the applicants from there, based on their board rating I guess, and the school you graduated from makes a big difference. You will be instructed to wait for their call, for usually 2 weeks.

In my case, they called within the week from my submission. I submitted my credentials on a Tuesday; they called me Friday that same week to invite me to come for the exam. The exam was scheduled the next Monday.

After the exam, you will undergo the initial interview. Mine was set 2 days after the exam which was a Wednesday. The initial interview consists of basic questions about yourself, your educational and work background (if any) and there are some personal questions too.

They instructed me to undergo medical examination that same day, and gave me a list of requirements to complete.

I completed the medical exam about 2 weeks after the initial interview. MEDICAL EXAM FOR CETN IS FREE. IT IS COVERED BY MMC. Should you withdraw your application though, they would require you to pay.

I was instructed to wait for a call/ text from HR regarding the schedule of my final interview; they texted 2 weeks after the completion of my medical exam.

The final interview went smoothly; it was a one on one encounter, not the usual panel interview. It lasted for 30 minutes. The questions were about nursing knowledge. They would evaluate how much you have retained and of course your application of that knowledge. Most of the questions were situational.

They called to inform me that I passed the final interview 2 weeks later. And asked me to wait for another call, as a go-signal to pass the requirements they asked me to complete earlier in the process. They also mentioned that the training would probably start in the first quarter of next year (2013), 2nd quarter would be the latest.

I asked a few questions, by the way, on that last conversation with HR. I asked whether we would be given an allowance or any compensation during training, how long the training would last and the probability and duration after training of getting hired.

They couldn't give me an exact answer regarding the allowance or compensation during training because they haven't finalized everything yet. The training would last 2 months and eventual hiring would depend on your performance and vacancies. All these would be evaluated first. According to my friend though, it will only take a week after training then they would call you right away for employment.

That was my experience. I'm still waiting now, they said they would probably call on the first week of January.

Please feel free to comment! I would appreciate more input regarding this. The forum I was following is already closed and I don't have any more resources. If you have any intel regarding the CETN program, please, please comment!

[COLOR=#333333]hi! are you done with your exams and interviews? what position did they offer you? thanks :)

im going to have my exams and interview tomorrow morning. so wish me luck.. hope i can make it.

may i ask if they are strict in board rating?

im not really sure about this but some are saying MMC hires only those who have 80% and above. but still, try to apply. who knows they might hire you.

Jan first week- had the first 3 exams (language, math and personality)

- was told that the technical exam and interview had to be rescheduled due to some system problems

Feb 12- received their message about the interview re-scheduling

Feb 17- will be having the interview

:) Wish me luck. fellas!

hi how was your interview and technical exam? im having mine tomorrow. any tips?

Initial/Technical Exam: IQ test (difficulty level: high)

Initial Interview: with HR

Final Interview: with Nursing Services Division

Medical/PE: Done

Submission of requirements: My next step

Had 1 week interval for each step until Final Interview. We were for medical exam right after the final interview. We were told during the final interview that we are for the Nursing Support Specialist position. But there was another batch ahead of us which was also for the NSS position who are already undergoing the COPN right now. I think they started yesterday. So Im not sure if we are still for the nss position or we will be undergoing the COPN as well. Still waiting for their go signal to submit the reqs (after the clinic submitted our medical exam results to them).

Hi, when did you had your initial interview? Can you please share the dates from your requirement submission till your medical if you can still remeber. Thanks. I havent heard from them since dec..

^mochikuchi, my entire screening process just happened this year :)

baabaa

Hi, can you tell us the general role of NSS and COPN?

Hi amihan_leaf! I don't really know what COPN exactly means but it is their 1 month training (no fees, no salary yet) for aspiring staff nurses. Absorption for a probee position will be based on your performance during the training. About the Nursing Support Specialist (NSS), I still don't have the clear idea what it is. But they told us it is a new position offered by them for RNs :)

Hi. Anyone here who also had his/her interview on February 17? I was informed to wait for the call for the result.

i took the exam on January 29 and was contacted on February 12 for my initial interview that happened on February 17. I was informed to wait. Does it mean that if you really pass the initial interview you will be informed right after it for the next step? thank you. Hope to hear from you.

i had my exams last February 21. It consists of basic language, mathematical, abstract and personality tests. right after the exams, i was told to wait for their call for the next step. i asked them how would we know if we passed the test, they just told me it would be upon the discretion of the nursing department and there is no way we're gonna be told of our scores. when i was on my way home, i received a text message from them telling me that i am invited for an initial interview and they gave me my schedule which will be on february 25. Any tips on what things they asked u guys on initial interview?

id like to ask,to those who were contacted by mmc. Do you guys have hospital experience before?
