It's So Hard to Look for a Local Job!!!!

World Philippines

I recently passed the nclex. I'm so thankful to allnurses, the information here helped me a lot to pass it. Since I reviewed and concentrated on the exam, I resigned from my teaching job. Now it's so hard to look for a job opening for staff nurses here. Even trainings are no longer available. I need to earn and save for IELTS. I'm so tempted to apply at a call center company. Any suggestions? I've been to every hospital that I know (UST, St. Lukes, Chinese, UDMC, Amang, Marikina Valley, Heart center, NKTI, Lung center, V. Luna, PGH) I live in fairview qc. There are offers for volunteer nurse at south superhighway medical center in paranaque but I can't afford to work there!!!! No salary, and its too far...Its so depressing.:banghead:

hey guys I'm sorry for the late reply  the initial interview in SLMC-GC is quite easy...we were in 3's and we were given a minute to collect our thoughts on why we chose nursing and why we want to apply in SLMC-GC and after talking we were again given a minute to say something about our family and their backgrounds..after which I asked what will happen to our application and she said that if we pass the initial interview then we will be called for the techical interview (this is the NSG Division Panel) and after that a written exam and then medical screening and then training and then deployment.. :yeah:

the initial interview would be with the HR first.. so the questions would just be the usual stuffs about yourself and your background.. :wink2:

after that you need to be prepared for the technical interview which includes stuffs about nursing.. :nurse:

hi tinx,

what is the email address of st.lukes? do you have to pay them for the training? how long is the training? Do they guarentee that you'll be hired after the training?

Please do not post their e-mail address here.

You can easily find it by doing a Google or Yahoo search and can obtain it quite readily.

Can we please ask that you do not use text, makes it hard to read, not everyone understands it and this is a good opportunity for you to practice writing in English

Hello guys, I submitted my resume via e-mail at St. Luke's last July. But I am hearing nothing from them until now. What could be the reason? Or What advise can you give. Thanks!

better if you apply in person so that you will have the chance to submit the initial requirements in their office to pave way for the faster screening of your documents. applying online would just have you sitting in your couch waiting for their call to be scheduled or to be asked to submit your requirements. this is just an advise. you fate is up to you. gudlak!

Specializes in ICU.

try submitting your resume personally at st. lukes. it would be better if you'd go there because they will give you an application form to fill up. and i think that application form is important because they base some of their initial interview questions there. they will also get to know you more through that application form. besides, going there personally will show them your willingness to be part of their hospital. hope this helps! good luck!:specs:

heres the problem for us filipino nurses here in the philippines,

1.salary

2.age discrimination

3.for many, how did you get your diploma?

4.retrogression and strict immigration laws in some or many countries(wish you luck..)

5.many of these working nurses "pay" to work!
