Flight Nurse/Paramedic for Angels of Flight Canada Inc. thru D'Boons Manpower Service

World Philippines

Published

Good day!

I would like to start this conversation with those who also applied as a Flight Nurse/Paramedic for Angels of Flight Canada Inc. like me. I feel unsure if it is legit.

I've learned the opening through Jobstreet website last July 25, 2014 under the company name of Nice Green Consultancy and click the Apply button. I got a text message yesterday (July 28, 2014) stating that there are only 8 slots left for the position of flight nurse and also to check my e-mail for detailed information. The e-mail is 6 pages consisting all the information that I think I needed. I followed the recruitment process which is to call the landline number given to check for slot availability. The man on the other line said that there are 2 slots left and told me to text them my full name for slot reservation. The reservation is temporary and valid for 1 hour unless I paid the said amount for the Seminar.

D'Boons Manpower services is the affiliated consultancy firm of Angels of Flight Canada Inc. here in the Philippines in which who will conduct the said Seminar. I checked at the DOLE website if the said firm is license and legal and yes it is registered.

My question is these:

1. Is D'Boons Manpower allowed to deploy nurses?

It is not registered in the POEA but as what they told me they are consultancy firm that's why they are not in the list of POEA and the visa, work permit will be process by the employer but I'm not really sure if it's true.

2. Why did Angels of Flight Canada Inc. website announced this?

" Please note .July 27, 2014 .

We are currently not hiring any nurses or paramedics for the PHILLIPINES. "

3. are there other nurses/applicant who also followed the process?

I want to have a conversation with someone who also applied for this.

Re#2 because the offer you responded to is neither endorsed by nor affiliated with Angels of Flight of Canada. In other words it's a bogus offer preying on nurses seeking employment. The agency is not approved by the Filipino government and claims the employer (Angels of Flight) is the sponsor. The sponsor has clearly stated that they are neither recruiting nor hiring nurses from the Philippines. Likely a colleague excited about the possible opportunity rightfully contacted Angels of Flight and found out the truth. Angels of Flight are warning others of the con.

 really?

Prior to calling them for reservation I check online if the manpower agency is legit. My mistake was I just checked at the Dept of Labor and Employment website here in Phil (which is apparently shows that they are registered) and not the Phil. Overseas Employment Agency ( which is the rightful place to check since it is Overseas Employment). I got excited about the opportunity and it is stated in the e-mail that we can refund the seminar fee if I'm not satisfied with the Offer. I didn't also check directly to Angels of Flight Canada because only e-mail add is available and I feel I'm running out of time for the slot. :-(

And that is exactly what the con artists are counting on, excited nurses seeking opportunities that seem to be a limited time offer. Do you have regulatory agencies that up you can forward your email and text evidence to, if nothing else maybe enlighten others?

I understand your excitement and I wish it were a legitimate opportunity, but per Angel Flight of Canada, which appears to be both a paid but not-for-profit company that affiliates with a lot of charitable work and fundraising it seems they would not have the excess funds and resources to sponsor overseas professionals. Seems quite a few of their flight nurses and medics volunteer their time to fly patients.

Thank you for your response though I feel terrible since the money I used as payment was not mine. And it gave my parents a false hope. Hopefully I can still refund the money and also prevent future victims through this.

sorry to ask you personal question if you don't mind. Is your colleague also a Filipino? where did he/she found out the vacancy? how did he/she contact the Angels of Flight? It's ok if don't want to answer my queries.

Not my colleague. But I suspect your fellow countrymen tried contacting Angels of Flight when the offer seemed too good to be true to verify accuracy. Enough so that AoF placed a notice on their website alerting others that they are not recruiting overseas staff.

Smart move about not giving out your personal number to random strangers online. ;)

The position of flight nurse is highly sought after here in Canada. There is no need for them to recruit offshore.

If it seems to be too good to be true, it usually isn't real
