Does anyone know of any institution that offers EMT training here in Manila?

Thanks!:nurse:

Hi medic 28. For you to check the if the center is fly by night school, you always have an option. We all know that applying for a job in other countries always accompany with LUCK...even if you are cum laude or superior in every endeavor you have been practicing if it is not meant to be, it will not happen. It all depends on the person and experience what does one have. and of course, the attitude and characteristic of an applicant have.

Thanks for replying medic28

I think the two statements do not agree with each other.

-even if you are cum laude or superior in every endeavor you have been practicing if it is not meant to be, it will not happen

-it all depends on the person and experience what does one have. and of course, the attitude and characteristic of an applicant have.

I don't believe in luck. we create our own destiny.

"success do not just come to you, you go it" as what is said in one of the slogans posted in the waiting area of a reputable school I know.

I hope you're not saying that graduates of those schools can't rely on their acquired knowledge, skill an attitude and are not competent enough and globally competitive enough and that they just rely on what you call as LUCK. Can these potential EMT students be assured that it's not like those hundreds of fly by night nursing schools with cheaper rates but low passing rates and low standard?

I don't mean to offend you but I'd like to tell you that I'm having some difficulties understanding some of your statements in English. Maybe I'm just not lucky enough. (just kidding!) :D

Hi everyone. I am interested to be a nurse-paramedic but I am a female. Whenever I am looking at job postings abroad for EMTs, the always require males.

To those graduated from LSTI, how many are you in a batch? Can you give me the ratio of male and female enrollees? Do you have any news from your female batchmates if they have found a job locally or abroad?

I am contemplating whether to take an EMT or DIALYSIS course since the fee is almost the same. About the chance of being employed here locally for experience whether as an EMT or DIALYSIS nurse for experience, which do you think weighs more? I heard that dialysis centers/clinics here are now full; I just dont know for EMTs.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Ooopss.. I think we're not allowed to post phone numbers here. :)

Sorry, just new here. I didn't know. :o

I graduated from LSTI. Though unlike the usual no. of students in a batch and male-female ratio, (8:15) i think in other batches they had like 40students mostly men. From what I've heard, Aeromed is currently looking for female EMTs. Some of my batchmates are currently working there. Though I HIGHLY suggest that if you pass your resume, you have to pass it when the owner is there or else, well, don't expect to be called. haha. And if your lucky enough to pass it to their head, expect an on the spot interview, or else, don't expect anything again. haha.

Is there an EMT training provider in manila or pampanga that offers weekend trainings?

I'm currently a nurse volunteer and Sat. & Sun. are only my available days.

thanks :)

i'm planning to take EMT training as soon as i get home in the Philippines..my problem is LSTI is fully booked til Sept2011, next batch is Oct24.. is there any accredited or recommended school for EMT training? how bout PEMFRI which i heard, TESDA accredited. after taking the training, can u take take the national exam ASAP? pls help me....pls...

I'll be careful with the word "fraud" coz other might not be comfortable with that. That's the problem with some of the LSTI grads (fyi im also a product of LSTI). Just be humble, if you know you're among the best so be it, just keep it to yourself and don't brag it with others (especially to those from other schools) because if you do, you'll be just like them. I've met many of them and It's funny how they also think of themselves that they are better.

When it comes to recognition, it depends. If it's abroad you're talking, then there really is no doubt about LSTI-PSEMT. But FYI, there is also CHEERS who is also conducting an emt training with an AREMT certification, I guess you just heard that now right? One of their instructor or maybe a shareholder as well (not sure about the latter) is an AREMT assessor, he is a foreigner and if I'm not mistaken he is an assessor of AREMT for Dubai. And also, there's ERUF in Cebu, they're the only one here in the Philippines who is authorized to conduct BTLS as far as I know, not sure though. And the letter given by LSTI w/c states that all their emt-b trainings are integrated with BTLS, I'm not sure about that. I don't think it will be honored.

If it's local recognition, then you cannot say that PSEMT is the only one recognized. There's the PEMFRI w/c I think is the one recognized by TESDA. There's BRIGHT w/c is I think is affiliated with PAEMSP.

But if you're going to ask me w/c school I will choose when it comes to increasing your potential in landing a job abroad, then my answer is definitely LSTI. It's already proven, and there are hundreds of living proof already.

I'm not saying that you will not be able to land a job abroad if you're from other school or organizations. It's just that there is a bigger market for you if you are an LSTI graduate or a PSEMT member and you have a bigger chance of landing a job with the better employers in terms of salary and working condition.

It's really a sort investment. You may gamble and pay less or you can go with the proven one and pay slightly higher? It's your choice.

There is a certain fly-by-night "school" who is claiming that being affiliated with an EMT professional organization is not important and that some Filipino EMT's in the past are able to land a job even if they're not affiliated with these known professional organizations. Well that word "some" speaks for itself, it means that they cannot even guarantee that you'll have a good chance of landing a job abroad w/c I think is important because there are lots of jobless nurses.

Sorry for the late reply to your post here brother i've been so much busy lately and i'm already working here in abu dhabi. i just don't want the others get fooled and waste their time and money in training to those "new and unknown" training centers. yes i heard about bright emt and 6 of their graduates tried to get the final exams at LSTI to become a PSEMT member because that's the requirement here in abu dhabi and they failed miserably. the highest of those 6 got a very low score of 30%. you can easily see the difference of the quality of training at LSTI from bright. those 6 passed their examinations at bright but they didn't even reached half of the passing grade at LSTI.

are you kidding me?? seriously tell me someone who's a cum laude that is being rejected for a job. come on be more realistic here! and you cannot get a job just for luck. to get a job locally or internationally you should have a proper education, proper training, enough working experience, and yes good personality. but even if you have all those requirements if you are going to fail in the medical examinations you will not get the job. and that is the only time LUCK comes in to the picture.
