2012 nursing jobs and training updates

Good day fellow nurses! I just want to give some updates regarding some hospitals that I happened to visit last December 2011. I hope many will be willing to share some info too. Let's help each other out. =)

Chinese Gen - accepting applications ONLY if you graduated from their school

San Lazaro - deadline of applications for RNHeals here was unfortunately last December. Too bad I didn't make it. Ha-ha

Medical City - as usual, logging on their log sheet is the first step if you're a commoner. If with backer, expect the process to be faster. (Too bad I don't know anyone haha) Check out their page on FB. The Medical City: Career Opportunities. Training for the next batch will tentatively start by first quarter so waiting for another 3 months is a no-brainer especially if you haven't had any exams and interviews yet.

St. Lukes (QC) - according to someone I know, training would probably start by January. Tentative.

Manila Doctors - HR is accepting applications but that is for pooling (subject to training with a fee).

NKTI - accepting applications BUT is very strict with requirements. Minimum of 6 months paid hosp experience from at least a hundred bed cap hospital. Geez! That's where my requirements flanked. I have all the others except the bed cap of the hospital where I came from. See NKTI's website. nkti.gov.ph

__Please feel free to correct any information if you know/believe is misleading. I hope others will try to contribute too in this thread. God bless us nurses and Happy new job hunting year! Ha-ha

*UPDATE*

This is exclusive for HD nurses who are already certified by RENAP with at least 6 months experience (volunteer or staff experience). Hemotek is actually hiring HD nurses for their branches. I don't know if that also applies to Manila but what they told me when I passed my credentials last week of January is that its only for the provincial branches. This include Bataan, Pampanga and Batangas. I recently received a text message inviting me for an interview which I have turned down to pave way for an ongoing pre-employment training.

May I ask, where did you submit your application for HD nurse for Hemotek and to whom? Thanks...

Specializes in Renal/Hemodialysis.

I passed my papers in the branch of Hemotek located at UN Avenue. From LRT UN Ave Station, there's a road perpendicular to LRT forming a crossing. If you're coming from Monumento, drop off by UN Ave station and turn left and go straight ahead. You can walk or take a pedicab ride going to PPL Building. There's a receptionist there in the front desk entertaining applicants.

Okay thanks for the great help!!!

Hello everyone, I'm just wondering from what batch are you from. I'm from batch 2007. I have a 6 months volunteer experience but after that I had to work for 3 years which is not related with our profession. I'm planning to get back to my profession since I already missed it. I'm just wondering if I still have a chance to be accepted as a volunteer/trainee/staff nurse in most hospitals?

Of course you still have the chance to get back on the nursing profession. It's just a matter of dedication with nursing. Besides, most hospitals nowadays require their nurses to undergo trainings with them (which by the way require some fee) and if you are very much lucky, you may just land a job after the training if the hospital is in need of additional manpower from nurses. Actually we have an opposite situation right now. I am also from June 2007 batch, landed a job as a nurse by 2008 and worked as a nurse until June of last year and now I'm a bum. That's a freaking 3 years as a nurse and suddenly I just got tired from the routine exposure to the area that I work for. I needed some rest. And I've rested for more than 7 months now. I am now trying to get back on my feet and it seems too hard to look for a job nowadays.

Thanks for the enlightenment. :) I actually tried to apply as a Private Nurse this February but I wasn't hired because I lack of work experience and trainings according to the interviewer. It affected my moral as a nurse but I really missed being a nurse again so I'm thinking of having trainings this year.

Hemotek is hiring all year round because for some reason, staff are not so satisfied working there.

It's a highly competitive place and a lot of professional bullying takes place. My former charge nurse transferred to Hemotek but after 6 months he left because of the "culture." He's now working in Capitol Medical Center.

Maybe it only happens in the NCR branches and won't be passed on to the provincial centers.

I wanted to work there but I am still not certified with RENAP. Still need to get 6 months experience so I can take the test. What do you mean by "professional bullying"?

what is the difference between MOH, DOH and HAAD exam?... please reply.. thanks^^

Crab mentalities, always looking at the things you do wrong, finding ways to make you look bad. Sort of discriminating you.

Hello guys... :) Do any of you know any hospitals or clinics where I can pass my resume?

I've been a bum for a year, and I really want to try applying to hospitals again.

Thank you
