I've been a lurker on the forum for a while but I finally decided to post.

I've also been accepted to UBC for the January intake.

Michelle, did you use a UBC email as your contact info? I had a UBC email and I didn't get my offer until today even though my letter was dated for last week because they've been having problems with bounce back emails from interchange accounts. Someone from UBC Nursing gave me a call today to get an alternate email to send my offer.

Congrats to everyone who has been accepted! See you on campus!

Hello Codeblue,

I am sorry to hear that you are on a wait list. Your stats were fantastic and I am surprised that you were not accepted in the first round. Were you able to get any feedback from them? Hopefully I will see you in September or January. Best of luck!

I am a bit confused as to why someone would want to go through the painfull process UBC has adopted for their admissions to the BSN program? As I have a bit of experience in the health care field I chose the 4 year program at a college versus the labotomizing process of UBC and their painfully large class sizes, not to mention the higher tuition.

One thing those of you might want to consider is if you get into the accelerated 2 year program when you go into a hospital YOU are now a 3rd year nursing student and expected to perform as one. Just food for thought.

Have a great summer...

no news yet, still on the waiting list, i know people got accepted in mid/late july to this program before, so there is still a tiny bit of hope..

ive let them know im still interested so im just waiting to see what happens while continuing with my other school options for september.. UBC wouldve been perfect!

unfortunately no feedback, they said i would have to talk to the Associate Director in the fall... I would really like to know why I didnt make the cut now though, instead of waiting forever.

I just looked on the UBC website and I paid my fee for registration. When I looked up my confirmation letter, it said that I was entered for Winter session 2008. But in the admittance offer email, it had said that I was accepted for January. I have not heard back from SON and am wondering if there was a mix up or something.

Would those accepted, please tell me if all their letters say admitted for Winter session 2008? If I was attending in September, I would be a little shocked.

Hi Kendall,

Here at UBC, both the September and January session are collectively known as the Winter Session. We don't have what most schools would call a Fall Session.

I was also accepted for the January intake and in my admission letter it also said that I was accepted for Winter Session 08 so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Did you asked to be switched into the Sept intake...I would think they would let you know if you were able to be switched.

Looking forward to seeing you on campus. =)

Hi Smiles,

Thanks for the information. I also contact SON just to double check and I do begin in January. I just registered for courses yesterday, though I know it is really early. But I figured may as well when I was on the site. I look forward to meeting everyone in January. Have a great summer!

For those who are entering UBC SON in September, it would be great to hear your feedback and helpful suggestions once you have been in the program for a bit. Information about what the orientation is like as well as how the classes / clinical is. Any information would be great. Thanks in advance.
