I have been an RPN for a year and I'm starting on a med surgical unit in January and I'm super nervous. How can I best prepare for a med surg floor ?

I find there isn't really a way you can prepare, the best preparation is experience. When you get to the floor, ask questions and dive right in. Be persistant, ask for oppourtunities and do as much as you can. The only way you can really learn is to do...in my experience. Good luck!

How large is your hospital? Mine has multiple surgical units. Each has a sub speciality in addition to general surgery. So one gets all the urology cases, one gets plastics, bariatrics, etc. Was this mentioned at the interview?
know your basics, vital sign norms, IV antibiotics, BP meds
