by lilylily May 23, '09Hi! I'm just new here so please pardon my ignorance.. I just graduated last april and passed the board june of the same here. I'm a registered nurse here in the Philippines and been committed as a volunteer nurse for 3 months now since all the hospitals stopped hiring nurses for selfish reasons if I may say. I have a pending application as a provincial nominee in Manitoba and I intend to challenge their CRNM exam but I'm a bit confused wether I'm qualified if a) I still don't have a paid hospital experience, b) I'm a second courser and I just finished my nursing degree for 2 years (trimester). I already visited the CRNM website but I couldn't find answers to my concerns. Please explain to me the things that I have to do to enlighten me. Thanks in advance.

crnm will base their decision on the information you provide them on your application form and your transcripts. they may except that you have no paid nursing experience but we can't predict their response. if in doubt i would suggest you send them a email and ask them.
i also am not sure what you mean by i intend to challenge their crnm exam as the crne is a requirement for all to take to work as a nurse in canada (exempt is quebec as they have their own exam) - May 23, '09 by lilylilyThanks for your help Silverdragon102. It's quite obvious that I'm confused..what I meant was I intend to take CRNE not CRNM. I read somewhere in this blog that Ontario favors nurses with paid experience over those with only training experience. Maybe the work experience requirements are different when it comes to taking the CRNE and getting a job from other hospitals.
Thanks so much for your insights. I'll just email them to get accurate answers. - May 23, '09 by McgyverQuote from lilylilyHello Lillylily,Hi! I'm just new here so please pardon my ignorance.. As an IEN and intend to work in Manitoba, I also applied for registration in CRNM and it took 2 months processing,( my requirements were sent thru courier which is faster).I am also a second courser, and I did not encounter any problem..remember they base their assessment thru your transcripts, so it is case to case basis.
Two of the requirements are verification of practice hours and documentation of registered nursing experience and practice.
check this site: http://www.crnm.mb.ca/applicants-int...quirements.php
What i know is that it should be a paid experience. but it is no harm asking and trying ,so try to vist their website:
http://www.crnm.mb.ca/
at the lower left of the webiste, there is a box with a picture of pretty lady, you can actually talk to them online (chat) ,11pm to past midnight Philippine time.. if you have further inquiries, the staff are very helpful.

- Jun 22, '09 by lilylilyI hired a consultant to assess whether I'm qualified to fall under the provincial nominee program. The point system will be based on you work experience, degree, relative in the province you're applying for, etc. They also provided us with the papers that we needed to fill out but you can actually download it from the CIC website.http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigra.../apply-how.asp. just visit their website for better understanding.gud luck.
- Jul 15, '09 by icanmakeithi everyone,
To date, I already have the necessary requirements e.g. TOR, verication etc., I am about to lodge my application to CRNM and the TOR to IQAS but got trouble with the thought of where am I gonna go should I qualify. Please shed me light if there's any agency who assists for sponsorship or should I do it my own, what are the best thing to do.thank you. - Jul 15, '09 by Silverdragon102You can easily do it on your own you just need to research where about in Manitoba you want to live and approach local hospitalsFiona59 likes this.

Forgot to tell you also that I am an IEN from Cebu, Philippines currently employed in a tertiary hospital for one year to date.
I'll start sending my resume to Manitoba potential employers hoping I'll get my eligibility and apply for interim permit and start working there.
