    Hello Lillylily,

    As an IEN and intend to work in Manitoba, I also applied for registration in CRNM and it took 2 months processing,( my requirements were sent thru courier which is faster).I am also a second courser, and I did not encounter any problem..remember they base their assessment thru your transcripts, so it is case to case basis.
    Two of the requirements are verification of practice hours and documentation of registered nursing experience and practice.
    check this site: http://www.crnm.mb.ca/applicants-int...quirements.php

    What i know is that it should be a paid experience. but it is no harm asking and trying ,so try to vist their website:
    http://www.crnm.mb.ca/
    at the lower left of the webiste, there is a box with a picture of pretty lady, you can actually talk to them online (chat) ,11pm to past midnight Philippine time.. if you have further inquiries, the staff are very helpful.

    Goodluck,
    Mcgyver

    Hello again.

    I just learned today that College of Licensed Practical Nurse of Manitoba changed their IELTS requirements since February 07, 2011.

    Here:

    OBS = 7.5
    Listening = 8.0
    Reading = 7.0
    Writing = 7.5
    Speaking = 7.5

    I was fine with Writing and Speaking before but today, after I learned the modification. I am not continuing my application. Sad.

    Hi everyone, I am an IEN who just got here in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada last January 20. Im holding a permanent residence status. Im a registered nurse in the Philippines with four years of experience. I am wondering how will I obtain a license here as a registered nurse. I have not done any language proficiency exam yet but i am already planning to. I have heard the " nursing acceleration challenge exam" too but have no idea on how/where/why and when to take it? Will i be starting from the scratch again.... pls.. i need someone to inform me for i really do not know where and how to start towards becoming a registered nurse here in canada.

    Thank you and I am really looking forward in hearing from you some information regarding my concerns.

    I suggest you read some of the threads here. The process is discussed and explained numerous times in numerous threads.

    Basically, you have to apply to the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba http://www.crnm.mb.ca/ for registration. They will assess your eligibility based on documentation provided by yourself, your school of nursing, PRC and your employer(s). One of the things that MUST be included in your application is your current academic level IELTS score (<2 years old) which is submitted directly from the testing agency. CRNM will evaluate your application and tell you what else you need to do. It's very possible you'll need to undergo a clinical competence assessment.

    The nursing acceleration challenge exam isn't something that is administered in Canada and it actually applies to nurses who are planning to attend an educational upgrading program such as LPN-to-RN or RN-to-BSN. In Canada such examinations are usually called Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR).

    Please do some reading and educate yourself. The information is all here. If you want to get to it faster use the Google search bar in the top right hand corner with the keywords "IEN Manitoba".

    hi, my eligibility to take the Clinical Competency Assessment, CCA, arrived after one year of completion of all the needed requirements by CRNM. I would like to ask if you already submitted any documents as IEN for review with CRNM? or Already did and just awaiting for your assessment result/ Eligibility letter?
