I am currently in Canada and I recently passed my CPNRE in Alberta last month. I haven't worked as an LPN there since I'm residing in BC. I want to transfer my license to Ontario, I've been reading their site but haven't found the steps on what to do and where to start. I would like to ask help from you. Also, how long would it take to transfer the license?
Thank you very much

The College of Nurses of Ontario manages registration for practical and registered nurses. You will need to be registered in Alberta, since that is where you wrote your CPNRE before Ontario will register you. Once you have a license in Alberta you can file your application with CNO. All the steps for that are found on their website.

Thank you for the reply. I am currently registered in Alberta. Do you happen to know how long it takes for the transfer because I've heard stories about the CNO having delays in the processes of giving out the registrations. And If I may ask to please to send me a link to the steps on how to do it from the website?
Thank you so so much

Well, their registration year ends on December 31, so there will be a HUGE number of registrations being processed between now and the end of the year - as I said, CNO manages registration for both PNs and RNs and they're the most populated province in the country. If you're not already in the queue, you can count on your application not even being looked at until some time in January. After that I'd guess at least 8 weeks while all your documentation is processed. It would be a waste of money to register before the end of the year, since there's no chance of you working in Ontario in 2017. The job situation is quite poor all over at the moment.
