Family Nurse Practioners: Moving from the USA to Canada

  1. 0 Hello everyone,
I am at the point of my life when I am deciding whether I am going to continue my education with my FNP. I currently reside and work in the USA, and am looking into the new online program from Walden University. I eventually plan on moving back to British Colmbia, Canada where I am originally from. I am just curious to know if any one has made this transition from a USA FNP to a Canadian registered FNP and if so was it a difficult process?
I would appreciate any advice on this matter!
    Thank you!

I am curious about this as well. The CNA does not list very good information about this topic other than to contact them.

    Tang N,
I do understand that most of the NP roles and scope of practice has been developed with the US framework as a guide. I have contacted CRNBC and gotten some information, but it was quite vague and really the only way you will actually know if if they review the specific program you completed and approve it to be equal to a Canadian NP program.
