    I've noticed a lot of Toronto area hospitals aren't listing their wages for RPN's on their careers pages anymore.

    Besides North York General, who are on the low side with $22/hour, and Trillium at $25/hour, does anyone know the CURRENT starting RPN wages at other Toronto area hospitals?

    Toronto East General
    Sunnybrook
    Scarborough General
    St. Joseph's
    Humber River

    I work for 25.59$/hr I am a new grad first job and my hospital is one of those that you listed

    A new rn that got hired with me gets paid about 29-30$/hour. Even though I'm doing the same job as her......

    In which hospital are you working? Did you just apply online? Did you have placement in that hospital?

    same job my foot, she went 4 years, and takes the critical or unstable patient if push comes to shove, and can possibly be "in-charge", why do all rpns believe they are doing the SAME EXACT job as the rn, will someone get real, or is it just me.

    Well of course this is an rn stating that however it's less common now. I definitely take care of unstable patients with "supervision" that's non existent

    A lot of RNs are just ****** off that a nurse with less than 2 years of education is working in the same place giving u report or taking patients from you

    I did apply online abd didn't have any kind if placement at the hospital I leave it to fate

    Not really. We all choose the level of scope in which we want to work. All nurses need to assess their patient load within their scope, skill level, and judgement. Work outside those boundaries, and you are choosing to put your own license on the line.

    You should check out the union websites of the hospitals you are interested in working at, they may have their collective agreements posted, and you can find out the current wages. I am trying to be helpful to you, but I was offended by the previous comment. There is no need to argue the value of the RN or RPN, we are supposed to be a team in patient care.

    Scarborough hospital pays 26.8/hr and Toronto East General pays 25.3/hr...Btw, a lot of RNs acknowledge the fact that the difference in skills and scope between RNs and RPNs are getting slimmer each year... In the hospital that I work for, RPNs get to perform skills that some hospitals allow only the RNs to perform..at the end of the day, it all comes down to working as a team..
