I have been through the process of Saskatchewan immigrant nominee program. It took me a year before I got my nomination certificate. I am now on the process of applying for my permanent resident visa at the canadian embassy manila.

thank you very much for your response. wow! that's very long before you receive your certificate. my employer told me to receive it from ministry of economic and development (bc) 2-4 months from now. once i received that, i can apply for work permit. it's a dual application actually, both permanent residency (thru bc pnp) and working permit. that's how they process my papers. once i get in canada, the pnp process will continue.

by the way, i'm heading to british columbia.

these are the steps they gave me:

the application process goes through numerous stages:

1. once i receive the completed forms from you, i will forward them with the attached “pnp application checklist” and the employer’s documentation to health match bc. health match will review the application usually in less than 2 weeks.

2. health match forwards the application to the ministry of economic development (pnp office) where an agent will determine whether you will become a provincial nominee. the pnp office process time is normally 4 months although we have been experiencing 2 months.

3. you will receive a letter from the pnp office confirming your nomination into the program. once you receive this confirmation, you then apply for permanent residence status (takes 8-10 months). at the same time you will apply for a work permit (wp) using your pnp nomination as a substitute for the service canada labour market opinion (usually a requirement) and a letter of support that we request from pnp on your behalf. as soon as your wp is issued you can come to canada . the wp usually takes 2 months to process; however, the medical you will be requested to take at that time may take up to 4 months.

4. once in canada with your wp, your permanent residency application will continue being processed at citizenship and immigration canada.

the saskatchewan immigrant nominee program has different categories. My application was under the family members category. I guess the processing time for this category is really longer than usual since there are so many applicants. The skilled workers category usually takes shorter time to process.

A representative from Health Match BC emailed me last week that my PNP (Provincial Nominee Program) application was already forwarded to the BC Minsitry of Economic Development for approval. Now, its another episode of waiting...:zzzzz

If anybody in here have an idea or could share the timeline for the Ministry to approve PNP's, it would be much appreciated..

BTW, I'm nominated by the British Columbia PNP.
