you finally get to the bathroom and the mere sight of the toilet makes your bladder let go. You end up trying to cross your legs to hold back the urine, simultaneously struggle to pull down your scrub pants, and pray that you don't wet yourself...well wet yourself too much.

you are telling your self " thank god I'm wearing black pants ,I hope it will not show"!! while looking at your back from the bathroom miror

You realize that you actually ENVY the patient in whom you're inserting a Foley.........

You think all shifts should start with a Foley/leg bag insertion.
You have had the worlds worst urinary tract infection six times in a year.
You wear incontinence briefs to work (just in case), and you feel relieved rather than embarassed about it.

You've ever gone home wearing a pair of those stretchy hospital panties and OR scrub pants...

You get home from work and go about the house and pass the bathroom and say "Oh yeah....I've needed to pee for 14 hours"
You have to have a visual of a toilet in order to remember a basic body function.
PS. I can completely relate to the UTI's! Ugh.

I have learned that while my bladder may be the size of the Hindenburg, all it takes is for me to hear / smell the urine while dumping a foley, and ...gotta go, gotta go, gotta go right now....
