Ten Commandments of Nursing...


This may have been around before...
Ten Commandments of Nursing ( Herbert Kavet)

1. Thou shalt not wear stylish shoes that will kill your feet before the shift ends.
2. Thou shalt protect thy patients from ridiculous treatments by doctors.
3. Thou shalt not pick at uneaten desserts on patients' trays or thou shalt grow fat.
4. Thou shalt always wear clothes with lots of pockets.
5. Thou shalt remember to remove thy name tag and nurse's badge before washing thy clothes.
6. Thoushalt not discuss horrible procedures at dinner.
7. Thou shalt trade shifts with thy friends.
8. Though shalt control visitors firmly.
9. thou shalt honor they volunteers for thy are blessed.
10. thou shalt not let patients overhear their nicknames such as "The Screamer" or "The farter"

Taking the keys home? I work with a nurse who has locked her keys in the cart, in the med room, AND got her narc door stuck open. Twice. I'm frequently paged out of rooms to fix whatever it is she's done with her keys. Gotta love her.
