Song lyrics that remind you of nursing...

Sorry, my fault; i thought it was cyndi i was just a kid when that song came out.

Well...I'm still a nursing student, but I have a summer CNA job in a nursing home. I usually listen to the country station on my trips to and from work, and for some reason, the line in the Kenny Chesney song "Shiftwork" that refers to a customer as being a "round-the-clock-pain" never fails to remind me of a couple of residents

Not that there aren't some nice residents, too, but you know what I mean...

I remember a song that I sang to my patient. It was a busy shift. I was up for a labor but not really wanted to have one because I was already tired from previous births that day. It was out of the blue I sang infront of the patient " I've been waiting for a girl like you to walk into my life"... every one in the birth room was laughing so hard as well as the patient.

The song by Blue October "Falling in the Ocean" reminds me of feeling overwhelmed.

I haven't read through all of these yet, so not sure if it's on here...but I have been known to break into "Can I Get a Witness?" on the way to the pyxis. And to start vocalizing the "Mission Impossible" theme during codes...

I also have been the victim of "Yellow Submarine" and VeggieTales thanks to my kids...there's only so many times a coworker can hear the Stuff Mart rap before they are threatening to make you an ICU patient!

I am Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd. I use it to relax, no booze or drugs needed with this song.

Mission Impossible during codes...that's a riot!
