"No, I am not pregnant"

So today I am outside of my office, and along comes a guy walking past me and stops to ask "Are you pregnant?"

(I am NOT pregnant, nor am I even fat..maybe a little bloated!) OK Im 5'11" and maybe 140lbs... So I just stare at him in shock and say NO, then I walk straight inside without looking back at him.

I am SO mad!!!!!!!!!!!! and a little sad!

What a DORK! I'm 5'3" and currently weigh 148. Did you know this guy? You should have said, "yes I'm pregnant, and it's YOUR baby!" Don't waste a minute feeling anything about this guy except relief that you're NOT having his baby!

Ouch! On the bright side, I am very pregnant (almost 8 months). When people touch my stomach and ask when the baby is due, I act offended and tell them I'm not pregnant. The horrified look on their face is priceless. Then I just die laughing. Ok, so I've got a sick sense of humor...but it brightens my day. hahahaha.

Oy, I made that mistake once.

I was working in the ED and a lady had brought her husband in for something. I was taking down the info and noticed her maternity dress (which it apparently wasn't) and asked her with all happy sincerity "So, when is your baby due?". The look that she gave me... ooooohhh. It was like she smelled something bad, and told me that she was not pregnant.

I swear she was wearing a maternity dress and looked ready to deliver. So feeling somewhat small, I carried on with what I was doing, listening to the husband just guffawing down the hall. I couldn't wait for them to leave. I found out later that she had delivered twins about 8 months prior. But on that day, she looked to be at 38-40 weeks. No foolin'.

And I thought I was doing a nice thing!

LOL

Same thing happened to me at work today, except it was the doctor who said it.

I just turned around and said 'whoa you deserve a slapping for that comment'. She grinned at me and asked 'does that mean you haven't done the test yet?' then 'you know you have been looking pretty ill in the mornings'. I said that she wouldn't know because I haven't seen her for ages. Then she comes back with 'so is that why you are working lates? because of the morning sickness'.

Gee, what is this pick on Nicky day? All because I said I was glad to be going home because I had had enough for the day.

This happened to me twice last week... We have 6 pregnant nurses on our floor. I am NOT included!! But one of the kidney docs that is always there looked at me... cocked his head to the side and said... so are you pregnant too?? His NP's draw dropped and I said NO! Do I look pregnant??? And he said uh uh no... haha. I'm 5'4 and 120lbs.... seriously dang!!

Then two days later i was sitting in my directors office charting b/c there was no where to sit in the station and another doc poked his head in and asked if i was pregnant... My director thought it was funny.. I did not!! I don't get it. That is just something I don't ask unless I know..

Every time I read this post, I laugh my face off. If a female asks if you're pregnant when you're not, a good answer could be "Yes, and it's YOUR man's baby!" :idntdt:

Well, the scrubs we got to wear in the OR area are made by men, for men. They are tight in the hips and butt, and there is room for a beer gut. So if I wear my top untucked, I find alot of "congrats! when are yuou due?" My belly is quite flat btw. The hips, oyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

I was asked this question just last week.

I do have a big tummy, but my butt is just as big so I'm proportional.

Ah well. If it bothered me that much I'd do something about. Obviously, I'd rather be mistaken as pregnant than go to the gym. Life is full of choices.
