We had a pt we thaught was near the end so her son who lived over seas came. He came every day for a week and every day she got better. He had to go home after a week and all was well for another two months or so. Just goes to show that our feelings aren't always correct and God has his own time table.

Aw I'm sorry I found this thread too late!! As soon as I saw it I thought of the scenes in Patch Adams with him and the man who is dying from pancreatic cancer... do you know what I mean? (If not.. you should watch that movie- it's incredible.)

I hope your presentation went well!!

a cardiologist & a gynecologist were best friends through college and throughout their adult lives as doctors. as they got older the cardiologist died. they gave the doctor an elaborate funeral, with special music, speakers, the whole 9 yards. everyone who knew him loved him. many were weeping in the audience. during the closing speech, a giant heart opened up and the casket went into it and closed. his best friend laughed out loud during this and everyone turned back in disgust and asked him what his problem was? he said, i was just thinking of my own funeral!!!!

A family pastor once said at a funeral. "Ed is like a cracked walnut, the shell is here and the nut is gone."

As a very nervous student nurse trying to assess my patient and fill out the mountains of paperwork for the day, I told my patient "Just a few more questions & I'll be out of your hair."

Patient was undergoing chemo and was bald as a cue ball.

THANK YOU! I used a lot of the things listed here. Some of the humor were ones I already knew and by your posting them I was reminded about.

The presentation was a huge success! I will not turn away any additions that you post as I have been asked for a lot of follow up on this. My biggest problem was the volume of information I had to offer. I had to fignure out where to fucus the talk. It opened a lot of doors to question and inquiry from people who want more.

They expressed gratitude that I interjected appropriate germane humor thoughout. THANK YOU THANK YOU.
