I am still laughing....
I used to tell my youngest son who would call me for all sorts of time consuming reasons at work: "unless the house is on fire, or you are on fire, or you or your brother are bleeding to death, DON'T CALL ME AT WORK!!"
My oldest once made the very lethal mistake of telling his drill sargent at Ft. Benning, "my mom is an ICU nurse, and she is way tougher than you, SIR!"
He was doing pushups the rest of the day!!
I know...we really are a unique and wonderful bunch....
As the Bible says, "fearfully and wonderfully made!"

OMG, I can't wait to show this to my husband. We will be married 20 years next month, and he still doesn't understand how I can deal with all the blood and gore from our 4 kids and be able to go back to eating dinner in the next moment!!! Hmm, wonder how he will deal once I get to clinicals at the hospital?!?

TY! TY! TY! I loved it. Thanks for the laugh! I HAVE to share this with my other nurse friends....yes, the ones that can join me in talking about what the resident grew in his wound whiel we r having lunch and causing our " non-nurse" friends to turn green. LOL. Thanks again for the laugh. Laughter is the best medicine.

VERY nice description, but if you REALY want to get to know them, try joining them!! I am the ONLY male nurse at the small hospital I work at. GOOD GOD could I post some stories here!!
They made me swear not to though, and threatened all sorts of nasty things if I did.
