MY "EXPERIENCED" CO-WORKERS...12 lead

Some of the nurses on my unit said in report that we did not have the correct equipment to do a 12 lead EKG because our machine only had 10 wires. Why did the doctor order it? Do we have to send the patient out to get it done? Another nurse told me that probably way back when they invented the EKG there probably were 12 wires.?? I wonder where they think the othe 2 wires would go...temples?

Another nurse (with 35 years of experience she will tell you loudly!) answered the phone and an administrator asked for a list of patients who needed to be dialyzed. She said she tried to transfer the call to optomety or the opthamologist. You see, you get your eyes dilated. I guess she just combined the words.

My workplace is heart healthy because I have at least one good laugh a day!!

Well, their eyeballs might be floating from all the fluid they need taken off....but I've never seen that happen. I'll ask my opthamologist next time I see him; I'm sure he'll get a laugh out of it.
