ED urban legend

Worked with an ED doc who told this story on himself....

He had seen a lady for gastroenteritis and sent her home on Phenergan Suppositories, clear liquids, etc. As it sometimes goes in the ED, the poor woman returned 24 hours later, no better and her husband was very irate.
The husband vented to the admitting nurse about how his wife had failed to improve with the previous visit's treatment and then exclaimed, "And as for that medicine, well for all the good it did, you might as well as stick it up her butt...."
