i love this article, thanks for sharing it fran!! i am going to print it out and bring it to work on monday.... docs will love it. we are in the process of doing chart checks every 6 wks to find people who turn 50, and the computer sends them a birthday card (which is brown and yellow by the way, kinda ironic) saying they need to come in and visit.

there is also have a pill prep now, which are 32 pills about the size of a centrum vitamin, the only down side of it is that you have to wake up 5 hrs prior to your procedure to take 12 pills.

we hardly do flex sigmoids anymore, maybe one or two a month.... colons are so much more thorough and you get to sleep for it! i still have about 25 years until i get mine.... but i hope they lower the screening age, ive seen more than enough people in their 20s, 30s and 40s with colon cancer.... i almost think 50 is too late.

I'm copying the article and giving it to my mom. She is having her first colonoscopy next week at age 76 (just a bit over 50). I told her to read it while she's on the pot during her prep.

I agree. A former Penn State student neighbor's younger sister died with it. She was only 20.
