Just a couple of weeks ago admitted a male resident into the long term care unit. He was quite confused due to dementia and 91 years old. We always ask about advance directives on admission. Since he was not able to make decisions for himself we of course asked his wife. After explaining to her what CPR was and would she want hime to have it she asked, "do you charge more for it?" Didn't take long after that to figure out she was not quite with it either and maybe we should call the son.
