Are nursing kits worth buying??

I have to buy bandage scissors. I have been looking online and have seen a few websites that offer basic nursing kits that include things like bandage scissors, a penlight, a multi-colored pen and an organizer to keep them all in your pocket. Some even come with stethoscopes and BP cuffs. I already have my stethoscope (a Littmann-woohoo!!) Is something like the basic kit worth buying??

I'm going to say no- the stuff that comes in those kits are usually pretty cheap. I preferred making my own "kit" to make sure that I had good stuff that I really needed. Although, if you are just starting in nursing, you might want to get one anyway just to have it. I think you will learn over time what you really want.

I bought one years ago and I agree that the stuff in it was cheap. Also, the little white pocket protector thingy just added to the bulk in my pocket. I prefer to just buy what I need and carry it in my uniform pocket without it being in any kind of case.
