I bought a pulse oximeter from :
http://www.devonsuperstore.com/Default.aspx

for under 70 bucks. Of course when i sent there to catch the link for you i saw that they have one as cheap as $37. The one i bought works great. I compared it to an expensive one at the hospital and it read the same. Don't know how the $37 dollar one is though.

Why would one need to buy a pulse oximeter? You're workplace doesn't have one?

I cannot believe you are actually asking this questions, usually it is so hard to find a pulse ox on the floors!

Sorry. In my hospital, every room has a dynamap, which has a pulse oximeter attached to it.

Be careful using non-hospital supplied equipment like a pule ox... I know where I work all equipment must be monitored and checked and calibrated by the hospital every so often...

What happens if you are using your own uncalibrated pulse ox, and it shows the pt's SpO2 is fine, but in reality it's not, or vice-versa??? I wouldn't chance using something I have bought and the hospital hasn't checked out... It sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen...

I wish I could say the same of here. This place you literally have to hunt every bit of euipment down. And when you finally do...they don't work! I feel that's time-consuming and could get quite frustrating.
