Nurses Job Hunt

Published

Are there any emergency departments that hire new RNs without any prior healthcare work experience? My focus is in New York although I am willing to relocation anywhere. So far my search has only lead me to outdated information and speaking to HR personnel yields mixed/ vague results.

Currently I possess my RN license, Associates in nursing (I maintained strong grades throughout my nursing curriculum/ honors in sciences)and a strong desire to get my foot in the door for emergency nursing. My experiences as a student nurse involved a variety of settings in acute care. I was fortunate enough to spend a few days every semester visiting the E.D. where a classmate and I were able to observe, take vitals, and assist with minor procedures among a few other activities.

Currently I have applied for volunteer EMS

Considering ACLS ( although bills are top priority)

Thank you so much for your time everyone.

Specializes in ICU.

FL hospital Orlando. Lakeland regional.

Specializes in Maternity.

What part of NY are you in? Upstate has a few hospitals that have ED new grad programs (strong memorial hospital being one of them) Strong also has an ED observation unit that takes new grads. Good luck!!

Thank you so much. Lakeland regional and Strong memorial seem like great places to begin a career.
