Start applying to facilities in your area and branch out from there. Utilize any contacts from school you have. Ask some of your colleagues if they can recommend you. Good luck. Something will happen.

I finally understand why nursing school recommends nurse tech jobs during the program....
NO ONE hires new grads without any experience...
What am I going to do??
Where do I begin?

I feel like we are in the same boat! I have applied to literally 120 positions in the past 6 weeks, and NOT ONE PHONE CALL. I live in Ohio, but am licensed (RN) in NC (a compact state) because I want to relocate to the southeast, and felt getting a license in a compact state would actually help me. I feel like after all of the years I have put into school, then studying for the NCLEX and then not be able to find a position, well, it really frustrates me! Hoping something turns up for all of us new grads:)

Most larger hospitals open internships twice yr usually around graduation time. Apply to the areas that interest u. Good luck

I feel like we should have a support group for "new and old grads without experience or no job".

I am 10 months out and still not working as a nurse. I am deeper in debt due to school. I still work at my old non-nursing job. I practically burst into tears when people ask me about my non-existant nursing career or tell me "It will happen, keep trying".

I am tired of people recommending that I network, try LTC, clinics, doctors offices, flu shot clinics, or to volunteer. I have applied at all sorts of places, including prisons, meth labs, clinics, LTC, Rehabs, etc. I haven't gotten a job yet. Also, I cannot volunteer because I have to work for a living, and when I did consider volunteering I was told that I could only volunteer as a non-nurse due to insurance reasons.

Bleh.

I don't know what to do at this point. I don't know if I should just look for a non-nursing job. I already have a non-nursing job but I need something that will pay me better (thats why I went to school but now I have even more debt).

Every morning and every evening I scour the internet for Nursing Jobs. I apply to any nursing job. Its sad to see some place repost the job ads after they expire, when I have applied to them time and again. I stopped calling places because I was basically told by HRs that we new grad nurses are a nuisance with our calls.

I feel like my heart is broken. I do not know what to do right now. I do not know if I can move to a place like ND that supposedly hires nurses.

So who else feels like this?

Do me a favor, please do not reply to me with encouraging comments, empty encouragement just makes us feel worse.
