I'm in the same boat as many. Needing a job and applying out of state just to try anything. Currently my license is in Washington. I am looking to transfer it to California but I haven't had a interview yet so I'm not sure if it's worth looking into yet. Any advice

Before you spend your money to transfer your license, have you searched CA jobs to get a general idea of how the market is?
There are very, very few postings that require at least 6 months experience. Most of the hospital positions require one year experience.
You can try to apply in a New Grad Program; however, CA has had a couple of hospitals cancel their upcoming programs for the next year. Just note if you are applying to a New Grad Program, your resume better be in tip-top shape since the average number of applicants for the Programs are usually in the 1000s for a small number of positions. Even the smaller and/or rural hospitals get several hundreds of applicants.
You must also apply to non-hospital jobs to increase your chance at getting a RN job.
The truth is, you will be competing with A LOT of CA nursing graduates. If you are dead set on job searching in CA, by all means, do it and good luck to you!
