new grad residency programs... how long does it take for them to get back to you?

Nurses Job Hunt

i passed boards kind of late (because i failed the first time) so now i'm on a time crunch (it feels..).. i applied to the few new grad/residency programs that were still accepting applications.. SO: how long does it typically take for them to contact you back if they decide they want you?

personal experiences, anyone?

thanks :)

I received an email about a phone interview for a new grad position/residency program about 3 weeks after I applied. I had a face-to-face interview and shadowed at the hospital a week after that, then didn't hear back from them for another 3.5 weeks. Then finally received the good news that I got the job! A few days after accepting the job offer, I received an email from another residency program for an interview, but I didn't go forward with it because I am happy with the job offer I already accepted. good luck with your Job Search!

The place that hired me got in touch a week after I applied, we scheduled an interview for three weeks after that (it was a long distance from where I lived), and I knew I had the job the week after that. I'm not sure if that's typical, though. One residency I applied to took three months to email me back and let me know that they were "pursuing other candidates."
