New Grad Job Help!

  1. 0 I graduated from a ADN program in Texas in March. My husband and I then relocated to Minnesota (he separated from the military). As such I have not had the advantage of having clinicals at a nearby hospital or doing an internship while in school. I have tried networking with people I know and keep applying but everyone wants experience. Is there anything you can suggest? I've applied to so many jobs and haven't gotten one bite.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I would suggest to volunteer at a teaching hospital near you and network there. Once you prove to them that you're a valuable asset, go for the kill. Teaching hospitals are great with hiring new RN's. In this economy, however, it's all about who you know. This is how I got my clinical hours in and got my job as an RN as soon as I passed my boards. Good luck!

I would suggest going to job fairs, even if they don't advertise it for new grads. It's a good way to meet recruiters and sell yourself, so when a new grad opportunity arises, the recruiter already has you in mind. That's how I got my new grad job!
