Need Advice on how to land a job

I graduated in 2011 with my ADN. I was unable to find a job. I was a single mother with three kids and I needed to work. I took a job as an EPIC trainer and have been doing that for the last three years. I love it, but I need to be home with my kids. I am trying to get a job as a nurse, but HR won't even pull my application for the managers that are asking for it because I have no experience since I graduated three years ago.

One of the nurse managers suggested taking a refresher course. Do you all think this will help? Should I go back to school for my BSN and then start applying for jobs again? I am so frustrated. Any advice anyone can offer will be greatly appreciated.
