Please share some information with me, and tell me how you manage your English skills!!!!!

I believe there are so many people working in healthcare field speaking english as second language, I'm one of them. I think there is no better way or shorter way to learn how to use english to communicate with others besides get use to it , however, I do believe verification is really important when you communicate with others in your work setting. I know sometime is kinda embarrased to ask someone repeat the information, but it can save your troubles in big deal.

I am working as a circulator in OR so I understand how important the communication is in healthcare setting. I couldn't speak English at all when I came to US and I learned most of my English by watching movies, and doing TOEFL practices. I do think speaking english as a second language can be a disadvantage in healthcare setting, so what? it can be a disadvantage in anywhere. It take times to get used to how people communicate or joke around in US, but you will be fine as long as you keep working on it, and do verifications when you have a confusion :)
